Happy New Year! We got a late start to our day around here. That happens when you stay up late and then the hubby has to get up early and head to work for a little bit. So there was some napping, cleaning up and resting to start off the day. But it seems that on most holidays that don’t involve opening gifts we head to the hills. It’s always great to start the new year with a family hike.

Its a great time to wonder what will the year bring? How much will these boys grow????? They look really big until you put them up against the California Hills.

Hiking always seems to lead to rock climbing.

These aren’t little rocks either!

It wasn’t a long hike due to our late start and some runny noses around our house. Just enough to feel good about the upcoming year! Plus the sun was setting.

You live in a beautiful area!! I love my area as well, except it is only in the single digits right now with a bunch of snow. Much too cold for my bones!! Great in the 30′s though :)

We do love it here. Should I tell you that it is 70 here today? But I am not so far removed from my midwest roots that I don’t remember the cold temps and snow. Which I don’t mind if there is sunshine around the corner. It’s the gloominess of the midwest that I don’t miss at all! Thanks for reading, stay warm :)
